Bye bye August!

August is almost over and it is starting to cool off. We've had a fun week though. We went to Bonnie Raitt at Red Butte and I took Dahlia to the zoo - Jenny and Bailey met us there. It was the perfect day and the girls were so cute. Dahlia spent the night and was an ANGEL -- YES, an ANGEL! (Why won't anyone believe me???) I took her to Toys R Us and we did some serious shopping. Tomorrow (hopefully) we leave for our annual camping trip on the Boulder. The weather forecast doesn't look too good -- rain. :-( Luckily Cade and Janelle are taking their trailer. I am determined to have fun this weekend -- going to pack the long johns!

Looking at the white rhino. Check out the pigtails! How cute are they?
What a doll! Look at that grin!
Cade got his cast off -- OUCH! (Gross, huh?)
Poor sad foot
Ed's sister Sandy stayed with us last week for a night. She is so affectionate! Not to me, though. She tried to kill me with wine. And very nearly succeeded. The details are too ugly to go into. Suffice it to say that I did not get through the evening unscathed (ouch!)

Cade had his surgery on Thursday. He seems to be recovering ok. I've spent the last few days with him and actually it has been nice having him all to myself! We've watched weird movies (Kung Fu Hustle!?!) and chit chatted.

Last week was our 18th anniversary! I can't believe Ed and I have been together that long. I really love him and am so happy that he is in my life. I don't know what I would do without him! Love you honey! And thanks for the anniversary present -- one of these days I will beat you in golf!

Summer is just slipping by. We had a good weekend though. For our anniversary Ed gave me a five-wood and we went golfing to try it out. We took Adam and Chris with us and had a great time. I went to a Habitat for Humanity dedication on Saturday and it was such a feel-good moment, with two women getting the keys to their own homes. On Monday we went to a party at Bob and Velma's for Bob's 80th birthday.

Bailey was so cute, she fell in love with a turtle that is in Bob and Velma's back yard.

Cade in the waiting room before his surgery. Look how happy he is!!!
Right before going in. At this point he was losing his sense of humor over the camera, so we had to put it away!

Hahahahaha! Adam in his golf outfit. I love it!

Trying to squeeze the most out of summer!

We had a pretty good weekend. I had Payton and Dahlia on Saturday while my mom, Kelly and Shanda went to Wendover. We went to Wall E and had lunch. Kay and Ethan met us there. On Saturday night Rodney, Brock and his girlfriend came over. Ed cooked and we watched the Olympics. On Sunday Ed and I went to the Dark Knight movie and then to the Red Butte concert. It was a fun weekend. What will I do when winter comes?

Heather and Dylan, her nephew. They came over on Saturday and we played Guitar Hero. Isn't he a doll?

I am totally fascinated with Dahlia's hair, probably because mine is so straight. I took a picture of the back of her hair on Saturday. It is unreal! I had a lot of fun with her.

Payton took this photo of hottie Heather Zoe Ed and Di at the Red Butte concert. She is Ed's second wife (Tuesday/Thursday)!

August is here - oh no!!

I love summer so, and it's flying by! Sad face. We went to a party at Glenn and Sheri's on Sunday. On Monday it was the Habitat for Humanity Golf Tournament and Heather and I were stationed at the fourth hole making Bloody Marys. Of course we had to try them to make sure they were okay! It was really fun. Cade was able to hang out with us for awhile because his company donated the alcohol. We also went to see the new X-Files movie. I seriously wish it was summer all year long!

This is a photo taken last night from our deck. The moon was so beautiful. It's a little blurry though.

This is a new photo of Bailey - she is growing up! She is so sweet and fun. Really really love her!

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was Chris and Jennie's anniversary - happy anniversary to two of the most important people in my life! We are so in love with Jennie and with Bailey (yes, and Chris too)! Here are a few photos from their wedding:

End of July

It has been a long time since I've posted anything. Summer is flying by! We have been going to Red Butte concerts and hanging out. Ed and I went golfing last week. Last Sunday Cade and Janelle had a barbeque at their house, which was really fun. Bad thing: Cade broke his foot last weekend. He is very mad. I'm trying to baby him, but he's too mad to baby. Some photos:

Cade and Heather at his BBQ
Kelly and Shanda (the one on the left is pregnant!)
This is Chris, Jeramie, Heather and Ed making mad faces. Scary!
OH NO! Cade's foot! (Sorry about that . . .)
This is a funny picture but don't tell Cade. This is Cade in his Dodge Caravan with a handicapped sticker. He is holding a piece of paper on front of his face so he can't be identified.
This has been a strange summer. I love summer but I've had some sad times missing G and worrying about Cade and everyone else. One of Chris and Jennie's friends died a few weeks ago and one of Cade and Nell's friends died this week. I hate crappy stuff like that. I think the lesson is to treasure each day with each person you love and live in the moment. It's hard!

My cousin Scott

One of my cousins, Scott Gifford, has gone to Indiana for surgery on his liver. Scott was diagnosed with liver cancer in January of 2005. He had surgery today. He is now in ICU and they are waiting for a diagnosis. He may on the list for a transplant, but they are waiting to hear the final results. I want to send tons of love and healing energy Scott's way -- he is a fabulous, giving person and I love him and his family!
